Student Publications

Following books are written by students, who attended the courses that Sharmila conducted in University of Pune. These books were created to culminate a particular course. These were conceptualized by Sharmila along with course coordinators and students. Sharmila and course coordinators edited the contents and the books were published by Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule Women’s Studies Centre, University of Pune.

Our Story: Twenty years of the Indian Association of Women’s Studies
Edited by Vidyut Bhagwat and Sharmila Rege, Indian Association of Women’s Studies, 2002

This collection looks at the IAWS (Indian Association of Women’s Studies) objectives and growth. It brings together reflections on the previous decades and organisational strategies for the future. The first section is on the IAWS, looking back and looking forward. The second section explores women’s studies and the women’s movement, while the third deals with the regional networks of IAWS. Section four is on ‘recasting conference culture’ while the last section, ‘building an archive’ includes Presidential Addresses to the National Conferences.
